Default Racing seats for a 5th gen /(harness question)

HI everyone, i was looking into getting some cobeau CR1's for my 5th gen. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these also. The seats come with some harnesses and i was wondering where the best place to mount them (anyway possible i could mount them without affecting my back seat area that much).

Thanks

I would ditch the harness as they wont be legal anyhow..and the best place to mount them without having a roll cage would be in the middle of the rear seats..

if u have "racing" seats, then ur car should be a "race car"....therefore, you should take out your rear seats, and mount them there, cause you want to eliminate weight......otherwise just rock ur standard 3 point

OT: i was watching a show on the history channel last night about car saftey......ull soon be seein 4pt harness standard in cars soon

DO NOT mount harness' in a car without a cage

DO NOT take rear passengers with the harness bar in place

well said...if you were to get hit in the side of the car or anywhere that could possibly alter the position of the harness or bar, you could injure yourself easily or possibly kill yourself...be smart when installing such products on your car...

Is there any way to use the stock seat belts with aftermaker seats for a 5th gen. B/C the seat belt is connected to the actual seat.

I am really just looking for sugestions on what to do.

if you buy the correct sliders and brackets, they should come with provisions for your stock seat belts. that should do it for ya!

nope..... remember what they pay engineers for, the stock seat is built to take the force of your body hanking on the seatbelt under impacty, the seat is designed that way, a race seat is not designed for strain to be put in that area beyond you butt

obviously there is a reason that aftermarket seats are called "race" seats, because technically that is the only intelligent application for them

Yes i DO realize that the ONLY intelligent application for AFTERMARKET seats is on the track. BUT not everyone who has AFTERMARKET seats uses them for the track. I just want them because I can get them for cheap, but I also want them mounted correctly and have all the safety stuff mounted correctly. I dont know anything about seats. thus i asked, and i did search

I think sparco is the one came out of the racing harness bar.
it's a semi-cheap solution to a roll cage, well, i said semi-cheap because the bar cost like 350 from sparco when a 4 pts roll cage could be installed for around 400.

the sparco system is for weekend warrior that venture in the track while still driving the same machine for daily transportation. It was meant to be taken off/out with the harness after the day.

<--just brough a clubman 4 pt harness, and yes i do have a harness bar.

other company(and some dude in ht) is starting to make those now, for the sake of daily driven track ***** a-like and not having to weld and drill holes in the interior
