mmm...ok
maybe you'll catch on that there are no CRV's that came with a vtec motor. just a b20b or b20z for jap market. and did you ever think to read your owner's manual to answer diddly questions regarding recommended octane?

there was no need for that comment.. he was just correcting your HUGE mistake.. i just wonder how the hell do people get those two things confused... do you guys jsut hear the word "vtec" and automatically assume its spelled "v-tech"?? i've seen some guys spell it vetech, vtek, vteck.. comeon.. u guys drive hondas for crying out loud.. vtec was by far one of the greatest thiings invited for n/a cars.
and every car manufacturer now is using this technology.. (adopted to cvt now that is.. and honda's i-vtec of course.. )
back to the thread. recommend by manuf. is like Stageone said.. 87 octane..but play around with the octane to get maximum fuel economy. i use to use 87 in the cr-v.. only banked me 19-20mpg. now i use 93 octane.. and get 25mpg, driving hard...

sorry bud, no owners manual with the car, the b20 is in my crx, where i come from no question is a diddly question when it comes to the proper care of your car. and the only reason i made the comment is because there was no need to tell me twice that i spelled a word wrong.

i really ment it as a joke because i had already been told that i spelled it wrong, and he basically said the same thing the other post said, so i found it kinda funny. i asked a very simple question to try and get the best performance out of my car, and although i did get an answer for it, i was also treated like an idiot. i really dont care about spelling, and i dont consider it to be a huge mistake. sorry to all that i offended, and thanks to all that helped me out

the only reason i had repeated what he said is because of your dumbass remark. had i known it was sarcastic...this could have saved alot of worthless posts. from your title, it is very misleading that the motor is in a CRX, not a 99 CRV. for that, i apologize for assuming that it was in a CRV and the owner's manual would be in the glovebox of that CRV.
oh, now we find out that its a hybrid in a crx and not crv.
and yes, it does make a differnce. and for not caring about the spelling of vtec.. that's not considered good to honda enthused, and what if some honda newbie read that.. and thought it was really spelled vtech, cause vtec is really an acronym.

im just a kid with a car, that had a question. the more and more i post on this site the more i reolize that there are 2 kinds of people that deal with this site. the kind that are here to talk about cars, and the kind that want to prove they know how to talk about cars. i have a little bit more on my mind then how to spell "vtech" this thing was blown way out of proportion. all im trying to do is learn about my car so i get the best performance, i thought that was what this site was all about? im sorry to any one i ofended i really didnt mean to cause any harm
Just use 93 octane to get the best gas mileage out of the b20 cause 87 for a b20 block really sucks
