FYI: A brand new 93 Civic Main Relay cost $56 at Honda. You might wanna lower your price on that. Those relay's are repairable by desoldering and then resoldering all the contacts the board. I wouldn't pay more than 15 bucks for a used one.

And a relay is a switch just soldering connections will do nothing for you if the switch went bad..

 

Your wrong on that one. I fixed mine. The main relay is a dual relay or 2 relays in one connected by a circuit board. The purpose of this relay is to supply power to the fuel pump. The first half of the relay powers up the computer and the second half turns on the fuel pump. When the computer senses that the key is on, stater is engaged, or senses a tach signal the fuel pump will turn on. The problem with this relay is not the actual relay going bad but the solder connections on the board. The bad connections are called dry joints which causes a bad connection. Dry joints will cause your car to not start intermittently in hot weather until it gets worse and doesn't start at all. The fix is to desolder these dry joint or all the joints and resolder them.
