96-98 ex ecu and 99-00 ex ecu interchangability?
after buying a "99 ex ecu" from ebay it seems that it will not work properly on my 2000 ex civic (which is currently getting an auto to manual transmission swap right now)
it plugs right up but the car won't start.
anyone know if these two ecus are interchangable to some degree (ie they should both be able to start up my car and let it function, but one throws a CEL)
I thought that these two ECU's had different plug configurations which would make only one of these fit my 2000 civic.
does it seem like a bad ecu or the wrong ecu?

i'm putting a manual ecu in my 99% done 5 speed swap.

96-98 is one ECU, 99-00 is the other type...so yes, if you do have a 99 Ex ECU, it should work just fine on your 00.
However, seems as how you went from auto-manual, have you done the IACV fix?
