I was reading some archived threads here on HT on the Valentine 1 Radar Detector. Well, mine is going to be arriving tomorrow and I can't wait.

While I was reading, someone asked if Valentine was going to come out with a newer, 1.9 version. Someone answered saying that if it does happen, it will most likely have POP detecting capabilities.

Just wondering what POP is.

Also...feel free to share your experiences with the v1. I've heard nothing but good things about them and I'm stoked about mine getting here.

I have never heard of POP. I wonder what the upgrade would cost. I have 1.8 I think I need to check it. That would not be like instant on or something like that.,

The 1.9 version isn't out yet, or I dont' even know WHEN it's going to come out or IF it's going to come out. But someone said that if it does, it may have POP capabilities....we'll see I guess.

Don't uprade....sell your 1.8 on ebay for 350 or so (it won't be worth as much as it is now if a 1.9 comes out) and then go buy the new 1.9 version for 400.

That way you're only out 50 bucks instead of the 200 that valentine wants to upgrade your current version.

 

When 1.9 comes out, I can probably still get 300 for my 1.8

I check ebay before I bought mine. I never saw a cheap v1.

 

At least 300 if you choose to sell it. These babies hold their value well.
