Default Opinion needed - how would black painted rims of autometer sport-comp gauge look?

original

chop

opinions?

If someone has these gauges in their car mounted on the inside in their instrument panel bezel, could you please post pics? Thats where mine are going so I'd like to photochop that.

edit: They'll be mounted in one of these btw:

exactly. 3/4 of the people in this forum need approval for everything they buy for their ******* cars. Think for yourselves for once.

I don't want this thread to become a "think for yourself" battlefield.

If I was sure I'd like it this way I'd do it. However I've never seen this done and mounted in a teg and I am NOT sure if it'd look good or not! I only want to paint this thing once you know - or not at all. Therefore, I'd like to see what other people think.

Lets end that discussion at that.

now the problem is that the paint chipped off at some places where the rim meets the glass. Any suggestions?

I taped it off and spray painted it.
When it was painted, there were no spots like that, I think that happened when I took off the tape. Therefore, I can't do it the same way cause the same thing will probably happen.
