Default Header question. How bad is this? Take a look at pic

I put a DC header on last year and of course the first night out with it I had the choice of either ramming into another car or hitting the biggest pothole in the world. So of course I went with option b and here I am now.

My downpipe seems to be the lowest thing on my car so its always the first to take a hit. Then comes the cross member and then the oil pan.

But anyway I'm curious as to what everyone thinks. I know its obviously not good for performance but how bad do you think its really affecting it? Is there anyway to fix this besides buying a new one? Because if I have to, I'm just gonna put the stock jdm header back on.

TIA

OUCH! I'd put the Stock JDM one back on, it's probably just as good as the DC if not better.

Mine is almost that bad. I really dont think you will see any performance loses. Its not like us with dc headers have any gains from it anyway.

I noticed that when I put the DC header on it felt like i gained bottom end but lost top. Isnt it supposed to be the other way around?

my dc header on my h23a looks similar to yours.. what i did was just sanded them down to get rid of most of the rust, then repainted it with some kind of paint... didnt notice any loss of performance, and it hasnt leaked yet, did the same with the piping to my trust exhaust, no signs of rust eating away from it. i sanded and repainted the bottom of the dc and trust pipe almost 8yrs ago.. i bought the car in 96

Aside from it may rust out earlier now, don't worry about it.

actually, if u wanna pull that dent out.. this might be kind of hard...

u could weld a pull rod to it. and try to bang it out with a dent puller. then break or grind the rod off. and grind the header down smooth. then repaint.

I did this with my dp. It came out perfect. I can't even see where the dent was any more. What I did was got a torch, heated up and drilled a little hole, and used a slide hammer to pull the dent out, and then painted it.

My spoon header was worse than that. It hangs really low because of the long primaries, but i sold that to a guy who is going to take the dents out.
