Default *URGENT* Prelude 4th Gen. seat compatibilty question!

Hey guys.

Just wondering if you guys can answer this for me...

I have a 1992 Prelude SR, and my buddy from the U.S. has a 1994 SI dohc v-tec, I believe is the model, and he has leather seats that he's willing to sell to me.

I don't think we have the SI model here in Canada, but I was wondering if you guys knew if the seats should fit mine?

He sent me pictures, and the front seats look the same as mine, however the back seats center console doesn't seem to be the same. The back seats look the same, but the middle console where my car has that compartment that you can lock that has a lid, but my friends has a console in the middle of the backseats that has like a area for change, cup holder maybe, and then the speakers are built in as well.

Do you guys think I could use these seats for my car?

Thanks!

front and back seats fit and you can either reuse your console or use his but you have a 92 and he has a 94 so you will have to move your e-brake over....
you can search and learn how to do that...

The front seats are all the same and will bolt in fine in your car. Although the center console in the front is different (ebrake position is different) between 92-93 and 94-96 Preludes, the rear seats are the same. However, the 94-96 Preludes have a leather center divider between the rear seats just like the 93 VTECs.

Here is a picture of the center console in a 93 VTEC:

Here is a picture of the long armrest console in most 92-93 Preludes:

The armrest just extends to the rear seats in the 92-93 Preludes where the leather center divider would be in the 93 VTECs and the 94-96 Preludes.

I'm selling both consoles in case anyone is interested. Check my sig. hehe

So are you guys saying the the FRONT and BACK seats will DEFINATELY FIT my car???

And the ONLY thing that is different is the center console between the 2 car models?

So what would you guys do, if I got the seats etc...wouldn't it look ugly to have the long center console still in my car, especially because it has CLOTH fabric, which will look pretty ugly with the new leather seats.

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks guys!

PS: I gotta make a decision ASAP before he sells 'em!

Yes both the front AND rear seats will fit in your car. If you're concerned about the armrest being cloth, you can always get the lid reupholstered. Luckily, the lid is easy to remove from the console.

ok cool, well you sound pretty sure...

I was just concerned also because I heard the U.S. and Canada model are a bit different....

is the 1994 SI v-tech that he has the same as 1992 SR ?

Anyways, as long as your 100% sure they will fit and there is no difference between US and CANADA models, etc....then I'll go and try and buy 'em...

By the way, would people reuploster the door and back side panels that have cloths, to leather as well? Is that cheap to get done?

PS: The guy selling the seats has some other parts of his car he is selling from interior, should I pick up something else that is compatible with my car, that is leather for interior? Or is it just the seats that are compatible with mine?

Thanks again, I appreciate your advice/input!

Yes I'm 100% sure because I've done it before. As for the side panels, you can either choose to redo your door panels and rear panels in leather or just look for panels out of a Prelude with leather and swap them out.

One thing though, you would need to mod the drivers side door panel if you get leather panels from a 94-96 model because the mirror switch which is located in the door panel on the 92-93's was moved to the center console on the 94-96's.

The rear panels are the same though.
