Default Which is better for turbo, GSR or ITR intake Mani on a GSR

I am sorry if this has been covered, but i can't seem to find anything by searching. I have an 01 GSR and i am going 7-10 LBS of Boost. I really don't wan't to put the GSR mani back on my car unless it is more benificial than an ITR or Skunk 2...Matt

A skunk2 will give you much better mid range power over the GSR mani, im not sure how the ITR mani compares to the others though.. and i know you didnt mention it, but the Edelbrock mani with its large plenum and short runners will allow you to breath more higher in the RPMs and give you better power up top..

So it all depends on your goals and preferences..

At your boost levels, I would keep the GSR mani. If you port it out, it flows extremly well and, even stock, it gives you a nice wide torque curve.

thats my understanding.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Turbo E 604 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">itr dont fit, right?</TD></TR></TABLE>

also as stated earlier, the gsr manifold will provide some nice torque. i'd send it out to get ported before i'd buy a skunk2, thats just me though...

This may be old but it is still a good reference..

Turbo GSR
Red line- Skunk2 manifold(same design as ITR, ITR doesn't fit GSR head)
blue line- GSR manifold

Notice the dual runners on the GSR manifold help spool up but hurts the midrange torque big time.. The skunk2 gains tons of torque in the mid-range and they both maintain torque about the same in the high rpm..

Thank you for all of the info, I guess i will leave my stock one hooked up. I would rather have the lower torque...Matt
