Default what's a good school to work towards a competition license

i'm in the northeast (new york) so i checked out skip barber, but $3000 seems a bit steep. i've driven with the PDA, but want to go to an accredited scca school to work towards an scca or nasa competition license. if there is nothing else i guess Skip Barber will have to do.

thanks
argiris

Check out: http://www.cnyroadrace.com/scca$.html they're the Central NY region of the SCCA. They have several schools throughout the season. Nothing beats pure seat time. So, try to attend as many school/events as possible.
