Default CF HOOD

Hey

Anyone own an eg hatch / coupe with a cf hood? I was wondering how much did you pay for it?

I have a CF hood on my 99 Si, but even for an EG, the going rate for a Fiber Images hood is around $525 shipped. Groupbuys are considerably cheaper.

I bought mine used, so I don't count.

I believe you have to bring the hood to a body shop so they can drill a hole for the windshield washer squirters. Or you can get a Spoon CF hood which already has the squirters attached!!

When I bought my FI CF hood, I drilled the holes for the washer jets myself. It's not that hard as long as you have a good drill and the right dremel bits.

It all depends on which brand you're planning to get. The cheap ones, with the cheap material that breaks easily, will cost you around 350. The Spoon which I believe is the best, is around 1300.

I have pics on my site of when I drilled out my hood for the wiper squirters.

It's in the 'modifications' section.

I'm getting my CF hood for my EG from www.jspectuning.com and its made by TC Spoilers and one of my friends has already gotten one from there and the fit is good and the quality is pretty much the best i've seen..no flaws in the stitching or anything...sometimes its worth it to pay the extra buck to get quality..why get a cf hood that looks all rejected and unaligned when you can spend that extra hundred bucks for near perfection? thats all i'm sayin..hah by the way I'm not sure on the price but last i checked it was $525 shipped anywhere so check the site out...good stuff and good prices...

I have a JHP.com CF hood for my Si. 525shipped

pissers were predrilled in the hood

great quality fit was excellent the edges of the hood were nicely rolled unlike the FI hoods where it's basically a rough edge. I'm very happy with my hood closes tight too! has holes predrilled for the weather stripping also .

Benen Hood is the #1 on the market, You can stand on em and they dont even loose shape. Amazing hoods, Lighter than spoon, and stronger by far. No need for hood pins. Intead of using Fiberglass as a backing they use Kevlar! Amazing not as cheap as the FiberImages BUT if you wanna pay more and get the best hood ever IM me.

I've had 4 CF hoods, and none of the met my standards of fitment and quality.

I've heard people are very satified with Benen hoods.

Cost - $925

Spoon hoods are $$$, but they use the factory mold, which is a GOOD thing. they fit right, are lightweight, and have UV protective coating. I think you can get them for around $1k.

There's another company making hoods that they claim are perfect. I haven't seen one yet, but my buddy has one, and he LOVES it. He's more **** about fitment than I am, and he says his hood fits perfect. They also have a 3year warranty and use a UV protective coating.

Let me see if I can find the link.......

Here it is... http://www.dgmotorsports.com

$795 for a EG hood, here's the pic.
