Default installed prospeed header monday...read

well i in stalled the prospeed header on monday. i got the mild steel with the merge collector. i paid 720 with shipping.

well the install went pretty smoothe. but there are modifications that have to be done. the first is to notch the cross member. you really have to notch the **** out of it too, not just take a little off here and there.

there are also two concerns that i have with the header but they are very easy to cure. i think that these problems should have special parts delievered with the header. hint...hint prospeed and an-r.

the first issue is that the single collector pipe comes with in 1mm of the oil pan. i think that some type of asbestos wrap should come with the header to either stick to the oil pan or to wrap that portion of the header. just my 2 cents.

the second is more serious to me and definatly needs a fix or needs a part with the header. the cylinder 1 primary touches the connector on the alternator. this is serious and needs to be dealt with before driving the car. like before some type of heat resistant asbestos wrap needs to be applied to the connector boot.

other than these two issues the header looks great and feels great. i will be dynoing the header this week. i am not sure if this header is going to make a whole lot of power over my JUN header that i had until i have the car tuned. but it will be a nice comparison.

Hmmm.....It's funny to read this post since I just went through this with my imagine engineer header........The plug on the the alternator was snug against the main tube which scared me since I didnt want to melt anything , but if you run a 36" alt belt it will clear the tube by about 1" which is enough to keep cool.....I have a 93 h22a tho...........if that helps.

yes this is the design for the preludes. there is now way to engineer that design of header and not have to notch the cross member. nothching the cross member was expected and was not a suprise to me.

i really cant wait to get this thing tuned. i am really confident that it will break 230 whp, on stock displacement. but my goal is 240 whp without ITB's. i may have to get bigger injectors for that though.
