'98 Acura 2.3 CL... Boost or Engine Swap?
I have a '98 Acura 2.3 CL, I love the car but its just too slow. My last car was a '90 accord with a (jdm) h22a, completely stock looking so it was fun. Someone hit me and totaled it though
.
I have been trying to weigh out my options and just can't decide what would be better. I'm not looking for something thats going to be in the 11's or 12's. I just want something that is fun to drive.
I have a 3 month old little girl that will be riding in the car so I don't want something that is really loud. If I put an exhaust on it has to be quiet enough that she can ride in the back seat and be comfortable and sleep.... which is a very important thing.
Whatever I do it is going to be done right....ex... If I do a turbo it will be tuned way before it is driven everyday. If I do an engine swap only the best will install it (I don't have the time to do it myself, so I will have to pay someone to do the work
). I have the shop already picked out I just have to figure out what I want done.
I am open to suggestions... turbo, engine swap, etc... Power steering and a/c must remain intact.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance!

i think you should engine swap since a turbo would require custom building a manifold, possible loss of ac and ps also. The CL is kinda heavy...what do you have in mind of putting into the car [swap]?

If I do a swap I was thinking about a '97-'98 h22 type s and change over to a manual.

Shot 150 DP of juice. Get a better fuel pump and injectors and something to tune it with and have fun. Cheap, Fast, may not be so reliable when it comes to the auto trans tho.... But still, it would be pretty dang quick.
just my .02 cents.

atts??? Why the euro-r over the type s?

type s engines have active transfer torque system or something like that... which is controlled by a computer to transfer power to the outer wheel so turning is easier - may sound good but it weighs more, oil filter is a pain to change, and after ~250whp the atts goes off and your car may just start pulling to one side.
euro-r engine has the type s cams and pistons, plus it has a single runner IM, same amount of hp and torque, plus the tranny has an lsd with good gear ratios.
