what does M5w30 stand for?
I got my oil changed at a shop last time cause I was lazy, and the sticker says to use M5w30 oil next change.....what does the M stand for? Also, I have a problem. When they filled my oil up, it was almost to the 2nd dot....not its halfway between the first and second. The only thing that ive touched is the valve cover, which I found to be leaking a tiny bit (didnt tighten one of the bolts all the way)...but the gasket is good on it, and it doesnt leak. What could be up? Oh, and this change was only 1000 miles ago.
Thanks
Thanks
M probably stands for Mobil 1.
For the loss of oil, have you checked you cam seal for any leaks?? Also, if you do a lot of hard driving, you'll burn a little oil. Next, Mobil 1 oil tends to burn more in Acura/Honda engine, than other oils. Lastly, did you check your oil right after driving your car?? If you did, then you may have gotten an incorrect reading. The best time to check your oil is after the car has sat for a while.

The seals seem to be fine. I checked it right after driving....it think everything is okm because ive driven 300+ miles the last past 3 days and it did fine.
