Default What to pay for Si tranny?

What is a fair price to pay for a 91 Si tranny with 198,000 miles and a mild 3rd gear upshift grind and a 2nd gear downshift grind? I am looking to rebuild it anyway and there is a guy 10 minutes from my house who has one for sale, thanks.

$50 is the most I would pay. Good ones around here go for $100-150

be very careful when purchasing a trans.... many people have been duped by others who will put in place a dx trans, as the gearing is different. Make sure to get the numbers before purchasing, and if you are planning to rebuild anyway, then $50 is tops for a grinding trans as the synchros are the most expensive internels..... if you are going to push more than 200 hp, make sure you install a limited slip, You WILL need it

Yeah thats not bad since a tranny costs between 50-90 to ship depending on distance. I had a 62 dollar quote from AZ to MI.

Ive got an extra one Im either going to disect and rebuild or I can sell it(im still debating if Ill do this, and its in my friends garage right now) but if anyone is interested It came out of his crx 89 SI and as far as I remembered it drove just fine(like any other 15 year old tranny) I cant recall it ever grinding though.

If I do sell it Id be looking for 100-150 roughly. jsut pm if your interested.
