just installed skunk2 cams
i heard you have to keep your used cams oiled up and can not let them dry. is this true? and if so how do i store them tell someone buys them? how much should i let my gsr cams go for? they only have 38,000miles on them. and aslo how long do i have to break in my new cams before redlining? and will i see any whp with these cams without tuning them? ok thats all
just oil the old cams up and wrap them in plastic/saran wrap.
as for breakin, you just keep the revs at about 2000rpm for 15mins, then you are good to go.

yeah-- i feel the 15 mins/2000 rpm method is sufficient!!
hell--- i didnt even do that with my ITR cams-- after they went in, car went right on the dyno
she's still goin strong!!

I broke mine cams in for 15- 20 min at 2000 rpms. then gave it hell.
I have my old cams wraped up in oil soaked papertowel, which is then wraped up in the cardboard that came with my skunk2 cams.

It's more of a precaution type of thing just to make sure everything is spinning ok before getting up into the high revs. I think 10-15 mins at idle-2000rpm should do the job. I would keep it under 4000 for a few miles and then nail it.

It depends on what stage you get and you will probably get a mixture of opinionated responses from other people. I personally am thinking about getting stage 1 or 2's but I'm going to do more research when I am ready to buy.
Your GSR cams are worth anywhere from 50-100. I sold mine for 85 shipped. Just post them up in the classifieds and you'll find somebody. I paid like 12 dollars for shipping (just incase you wanted to know how much shipping was.)
Also, you should see a very nice change from those cams. You'll obviously see more change once the car is dyno'd but for now, you'll still see improvements. I suggest getting some Cam gears to go along with them (to get the most out of them at the dyno). You'll be very happy after its tuned
As far as break-in. I waited like 10 miles before I started testing my teg out with the new cams. They worked perfectly fine from there on out. As long as they are installed correctly, there shouldn't be a problem.

xplaintearth420 i cant tell one bit of difference with the cams although they havnt been tuned yet, when i got my jg intake man. i felt the power big time! when vtec ingauged it felt like a 30shot of nitrous and that was before that was tuned.
I let the car idle for 5 minutes after we installed the Skunk2 cams. I drove the car for 2 hours right after that. No problems whatsoever and the car runs like cherry.
And damn... alot of people are starting to get Skunk2 cams.

it depends on the application i had stage ones on my car last year and they were great, my vtec was loud enough to scare little kids. but this year i am going with a stage 2s and i heard alot of good things about them. i'll let you know in about two weeks when i break my motor in.

the thing about manifold is it starts around like 7000 rpms when you can start to feel it so you should get your ecu chiped first shouldnt you?i could be wrong
on mines... i made 20 whp with supporting mods
as for braking in...... i was told my my shop, that its not the cams that need to be broken in, but if you are running ti retainers and springs/ they should be worked in slowly, allowing the ti retainers to settle in its place and allow the spring to compress to its potential
