Default Only reading 3.5V on MAP sensor, what could cause drop in voltage?

I am trying to diagnose why my '92 integra is running poorly (1992 integra GSR, '92 JDM Integra XSi motor OBD1). I've been looking at the MAP sensor, and according to the Haynes manual, the voltage accross the the green/white wire (middle pin) and the white wire should be ~5.0V...yet I am reading 3.5-3.6V. I've traced all the wiring, and the soldering and connections look to be intact and hooked up properly. The voltage accross the geen/white wire and the yellow/red wire is 5.0V and is to spec according to the Haynes manual.

No codes being thrown using a '95 GSR P72 ECU (virgin)...except 20, ELD, which '92 integras do not have so I am not concerned about it.

Any ideas?

If the key is in the 2nd position, I believe that is what it reads with the stock MAP sensor. One wire should read 5 volts constant and the other is your ground wire.

With the key out, I'm not sure if that middle wire would read anything.

Middle wire is ground. If you take a voltmeter and attach the negative probe to the ground (middle pin) and measure the voltage accross the white wire it should be 5.0V +/- according to Haynes...the same accross the yellow/red wire....unless haynes is wrong.

I do know how to check the voltage. If I remember right, with a stock MAP sensor, that's what it should read.

I wouldn't doubt the Haynes being wrong.

If you are getting code 20, ELD, it usually meant on cars I've seen that the alternator is going out. That would also explain your drop in voltage. I'd swap that out. I'm about 90% sure on that. Happened on my race car CRX.

'92 USDM integras do not have the ELD. I'm not concerned about it. New alternator as well

Well I got the car running good. I took a MAP sensor off of one of my spare ITR throttle bodies and everything is bueno. Unfortunately I have something wrong with my suspension now, and Code 23 knock sensor came on while driving. Car feels ok though.
