D15b engine swap is in! *pics, 56k nope
Out with the old turbo d15b7 and in with a slightly modded jdm D15b vtec engine w/ Si tranny running more boost, yay! Engine swap took me and a few friends a friday night and saturday morning. Was my first swap and it was so friggin easy, and to think i was gonna pay a shop to do it
.
to Hmotorsonline.com for a hella clean engine! Before it was swapped in, I installed a Spec Stage 3 6puck clutch and ACT prolite flywheel. I am still breakin' it in, but i can already tell this bish is alot faster. Revs soooo freely..
$435 for engine + $150 for tranny + 185 shipping = $770 total
Pics:
the old

some turbo parts

gettin rdy to pull it

no engine!

Spec clutch and ACT flywheel

new one goin in

gotta have the classic standing in the engine bay picture..

mountin' it up

the finished product

neighbors 360 a.k.a next on my kill list haha

swap was easy and for the price, a great deal. A very noticable power increase from what i had. Valve cover was already 'krinkle black', but resprayed it with some high temp red from autozone.

use chains bolted to the lift point on the trans, and the lift point on the bback of the head.

nice swap man. i did the swap from a blown d16z6 to the d 15b. I felt a little bit more bottom in the d15. I have a sol too. what computer are you using? the p28 still? i got my motor from soshinusa and it looked clean like that for a little less then what you payed but you still got a pretty good deal. good luck.
