Default Prelude purchase crisis!

i found a 93 vtec for 4500 but im buying it with greddy exhaust, VIS boxter bodykit, suspension, CF hood, burnt clutch and needs new cam seals...so he brought it up to 6250....i put 500 down on it till monday 29th when i get my loan...but i was talking to someone and they work on the this car at park honda...he tell me this guy treats the lude like **** that wire are all hanging everywhere and stuff, it kinda scares me so now i have lost a non refundable 500 bucks, should i ask him that i know its kinda junky and ask him to lower the price? or just look for a different car and get over that i just handed some dude 500 bucks? im real frustrated right now....he has rims on it s should i ask him to include them with the 6250? im thinking of asking him to lower the price to 5000 w/ rims...i cant make a decision...i found a cheap 00 integra GSR also..its 6000,stock..so if i cant get the lude i might get that...u think might be worth it

it would be 4500 stock on the lude...i was just looking at the gsr...i dont know anything about the tegs....im really into ludes but i dont know weather i should look for a stock grandma owned car, or this one...i just hope i dont regret it, my dad is a great mechanic and has perfect knowledge on cars, so i think i might be taking the motor out and rebuilding it for turbo, im guessing 4000 into building the motor...arr just frustrating ya know lol

id atleast buy a car thats reliable to begin with, that prelude sounds a little suspect. just keep looking and you'll find something that you like and is reliable.

I would NEVER buy a car from a young adult, especially if it has been modded. Read on this site...most people think the car is meant to be redlined daily.

I will NEVER buy a used car from a kid. After seeing what guys do to their cars these days....it's just not worth the risk.

Good luck.

I would never buy a car from a kid that has mods on it. I know that once I do any mod on my car that then I go race it to see if I can feel the difference. Find one thats all stock so you can beat it and have some fun in it

I agree that a lot of kids/young adults beat there cars up and just throw mods on there not even knowing what they are doing but not all young adults are careless and uneducated about their ride... As for the lude, thats sketch giving some guy 500 bucks but I would get him to lower the price as much as possible, find out what all he has messed with(or messed up for that matter) and have someone that knows preludes help you work on it....

u see, u are contradicting yourself on this one, you like the lude with all the mods done to it, after being warned about it, throwing away $500 on it...not worth the time man.

the integra is better, but still, how many miles, how is the carfax (not always reliable) report, the tires, the body panels, wear and tear.

U see, i think you are being drawn to this car by the mods it has...not worth it.

Is there a reason to buy a moded car when you actually want to learn what to do with them, and worst of all, COME HERE and ask us about it?

Plain and simple, if you like tunning cars, get something with no mods, if you don't like modding (working on it yourself), then get a toyota corolla or something...

speechless

sound like a grumpy old man, lol. I take offense to that, I'm 22, and yes, I let the car breathe once in a while, and usually every time I merge on the highway, but I take excellent care of my car, so it all depends. Generally, sure, a lot of young owners beat the hell out of their car, but if you can find an owner who is such an enthusiast about his/her car that they value it, then you have a good buy because it's probably been taken care of, at least by them.

I dunno dude, I'd have a hard time parting with $500 for nothing. That's a lot of money, did the tech at the dealer say anything other than wires hanging? I mean, that's something you can fix, but if he gave you specifics, it depends. Quick checks: remove the radiator cap and see if the fluid is up to the neck and green, not frothy white. Pull the oil dipstick and check for dark brown discoloration, what might look like the color of burned oil, the dipstick should be shiny when wiped clean. It's true that most people who own VTEC preludes probably drive the **** out of them, but it's still a hard car to find. With his VIN you can check things like when/if he changed the timing belt, etc. Like I said, I wouldn't just give away my money, especially $500, but I suppose it's better than spending 6 grand on a money trap.

ill kick his freakin *** if he dont give me the 500 back if i find out the car is a lemon...i thinkin that i can lowe the price down to about 5000 and ask him to include the rims...if not i cant get lots of people to prove the car aint worth 6250, but hey, its a prelude, plus its vtec i cant find anything cheaper....i dont mind working on it cuz my dad has the mechanical brains...oh well we will see what will happen....either way im getting a car...lol this is be my 4th car
