organic excedy or cerametalic excedy clutch?
im getting ready to order a clutch and flywheel for my civic si and was wondering the difference between an organic excedy clutch and a cerametalic excedy clutch. Which one is better for my car? thanks
b16a e/i/h, i have heard that organic is more like stock, but i donno if i should get cerametalic b'c that is for cars with a lil more horse than mine.

I used an Exedy organic on my b16 w/ same mods. Did not have a single complaint about the clutch, never slipped, never jerked, very nice line between street friendly and power handling. As long as you dont go FI or nitrous, the clutch will hold.
A friend had the ceremetallic on his SOHC-T, the pedal felt the same, but it did engage a more harsh than the organic. Felt more like a race clutch.
If you live where you'll be doing a lot of traffic/stop and go driving, and are not planning on too much power you might want to consider the organic.

I have an exedy flywheel and a cerametallic clutch in my 94 si with a gsr swap and I give it
. If you are really picky and want stock feel and engagment get the organic but if you want a performance feel get the cerametallic. The only bad thing that I have noticed about the cerametallic is the clutch chatter but it really doesnt bother me.
EDIT: my only mods are a trust catback, no-name short ram, unorthodox underdrive crank and p/s pulleys....

i got the organic in my eg with a b16a2 and it feels really weird compared to an ACT clutch. I am thinking about changing to ACT by summertime bc the excedy is not gripping like what I think it should be.

Anyway, organic is fine for bolt-ons and basic stuff like that.
Running a puck-type clutch for piddly **** like that is retarded. Maybe it makes your car feel faster or something? Big time racer? lol.

i have the excedy organic and lightened fly combo. I really like it, but it does have a bit of chatter to it. That i'm not very fond of. I really wish i had gone with something with a bit more grab like perhaps an HDSS or something like that....but over all a good clutch. just break it in properly.

I just got that clutch too with a JDM ITR FLYWHEEL, the pedal feel is stock abut the clutch BITES, its a nice clutch
my car is a daily driver, but when I want to get on it, clutch holds my built b16

ive been running the exedy organic for over a year now, it was on a b16 w/ bolt-ons then b16a Turbo, now all motor b18c1 w/ lightweight flywheel and the clutch still grabs and feels like new.
didnt read all the posts, but i jus got a new exedy organic clutch and i must say it is friggin to easy to drive. and i have only been driving on it for 7 miles since my new b16 longblock was put in on saturday. before that on my old b16, i had an ACT 4 PUCK clutch for the last 4 years.
the difference between the 2 is huge. the 4 puck grabs like a **** and living in la, traffic is not good. for simplicity i would advise you to just get the organic exedy one. no jerky bs to deal with, and its alot cheaper. there was a thread look it up propstreetonline.com or something . they have 20% off this month, i got mine for 220 shipped, gsr tranny!
