Default S2K wins at Drag Racing (Etown Survival Series)

Although everyone feels the S2000 is not a drag car (I agree somewhat), but I competed in the 4 cyl N/A no motor swap class and WON $200 buks and a nice trophy ... This class is usually heavily dominated by ITRs and GSRs ... although there were a few ITRs and GSRs running similar et as me. the yellow ITR (Kurt) who usually dominates broke an axle, he usually runs 13.5's to 13.7s on street tires.
Now I can go buy some parts for the s2k, problem is nothing is that cheap for this car LOL but gotta get this car a bit lighter and quicker to compete in future SS events.

This $200 buks will buy the tighter final drive ...

Nice job.. What were your times?

I saw a clean PY ITR on a flatbed on Route 9, just before the parkway yesterday around 2pm.. I'm guessing it was that Kurt's car...

it could have been the other guys with the PYR racing in the hybrid class on slicks.

I was running 14.3's @95-96 mph. No real mods, only ultimate racing exhaust, otherwise stock. Best 60' times were 2.1's launching at around 6krpm. Car with me was 2970 lbs ... pretty much the ONLY thing thats disappointed me about the car ... well besides it falling on my friends foot.

You got us this time Greg, but we will be back. lol Running true street tires in this cold weather can be a hazard lol. Kurt's car is quick indeed but he runs a dot bfg all the time. I drove 12oz's car in the finals against you. If I had a radial on that car, it would of been a dif. outcome but congrats on the win in a rwd honda. Our white itr wasn't running up to par as well. I guess thats what you get when you party all night and get 2 hours of sleep then hit the track. I am sure we will see you in competition next event. Nice win.

Was that you in the Yellow S2k?? I saw you run once when you hit the 14.5. Glad to see you dropped the times a little.

Congrats on the win.

yup yellow s2k with dealer tags.

yeah vadim i saw you get in the car instead of nick LOL, i didnt know it was you until you posted ... As for sleep the night before, i was in the emergency room with a friend cause he had to get stitches on his lip, so no sleep here as well plus working on the red crx til 3am then right before going to the track aint no fun either.

i'm hoping to give Kurt a run for it, I think I can beat that 13.5 on street tires with a few s2k goodies i have on order, Toda shipment comes in mid april though, oh well. next SS is early April, I guess stock will have to do for now.

I am sure that s2k will be movin with Toda behind it. I didnt know that they changed the pro tree to .000 till the end of the event lol. I busted an awesome 2.7 60ft, lol hopin and pumpin the gas. The launch was everything, I was pulling back hard, but not enough to pass you lol. Either way, good run, and I hope to see it out again. Too bad to what happened to Jason, that **** ruined my day.

You should be able to get those times down just bone stock. You just really have to beat the crap out of this car to run fast times. I hit a 13.7 with just Spugen exhaust. I'm hoping to get a 13.5 or so with a few little things.
Try launching around 7k and slipping the hell out of the clutch, it's beating on the car real hard, but you will be impressed by what this car can really do.

I have about 50 7k launches on my car and it still grabs like it did when I first bought the car.

I think CHEETAH will be alright. He knows what he's doing.

hey nick ill give it a shot if you want to take out greg next time. sad part is we ran faster with drag radials (12.6 @110) than we did with the slicks! (12.7 @109) anyways the crx should do better next time. congrats to greg, hopefully this should be the start of a prosperous season.

roger, so much for the element of surprise ...

congrats too roger 12.6 on street tires weighing in at 2310 lbs running the car exactly how you drove it to the track ... now thats HARDCORE !!!

yeah evildohc and gang, see you guys again soon.

lshatch, the car has a 13.8 or 13.9 in it, but i was sandbagging until the end ... the officials told me to keep it over 14.0 because of convertible, I kept insisting the cutoff is 13.0 but they put a "Y" on my car anyway so that the tower would check to see that I dont run under 14.0. The best launch I got was a 2.10 60' running 14.3 @ 78mph LOL .. the other runs with 14.3 had 2.3 60' times.

What are the best 60' times on stock S02s anyway ? even with 3000 lbs what is average 60' ? is 1.9 possible ?

I'm getting used to the car remember this is only my 2nd time running the car.

thanks
greg

14.3 @ 78??? hahaha. They better let me run under a 14.0 on Saturday or I'm going to flip.

I was able to get a 2.0 on the stock tires. I think a 1.9 is possible, but that would be one incredibly hard launch. Probably at 8k and ripping apart the clutch.
I ran that 13.7 the first time at the track, but it was on about my 4th run. You can definitely get those times down, but if Etown is going to be stupid like that, maybe not.
I think the average 60' has to be around a 2.2. The usual stock times for these cars are about a 14.1-14.3.
Remember what they say about the stock differential. I am worried about it slightly, but it hasn't failed me yet. Are you going to E-Town for Honda day?

Have you checked on S2ki? There are always guys selling tons of stuff on there. I'm sure you could find an ECU from someone who went standalone.
