to those who has painted a rims with regular paint.....need your help..
does a high temp paint necessary ?
I was thinking on sanding down the wheel so the paint will stick better, paint it with 4-5 layers and 2-3 layers of clear coat...
is that enough ?

No need for high temp paint. Those coats should be enough. Make sure you sand them down good and clean them with soap really good. Last but not least, wait until rim is completely dry before adding next coat.
P.S, go and buy a paint gun, the ones that goes on top of the nozzle on the can because the regular nozzle sucks.

i painted (had painted) my old rims with the same paint on my body of my car.worked great, no problems but you probaly have to bake em, and let dry really good before putting tires on b/c paint is soft and might need to be touched up once its put on tire machine if you rush.
You can keep your tires on the rim, if paint gets on the tire itself it is okay - it flakes and fades off over time.
