Default Which Intake can you hear VTEC better

My bruh has the APC Intimidator Intake (short ram) I believe, or Cold Air im not sure, but which is better to hear the VTEC, the Cold Air, or Short Ram for the B,D, and K series, because since I lost my Civic and I had a short ram and not a Cold Air, I really didnt know which one sounds better.

Whats a "bruh"?

Anyway the bigger the pipping the louder the noise.

CAI would be louder cause it echos longer.

That looks like one of those rare "E-bay" items, possibly even JDM. Did you get it here http://www.ebay.com.hk/home ????

SOHC VTEC engines are barely audible when the VTEC hits.

And if you're concerned more with noise than power output, then I don;t know what to say man.

so true, i have an aem short ram with ITR intake cam and i think its too loud. so i always keep my eg6 air box with drop in K&N around when i want to tone down the vtec noise a little

Im not, the thing im doing is this, Im gonna use the D series and run only with Intake, but when I get my swap done i'll have Intake and the Apexi N1 exhaust system 3" of course, cause Im turboing the K series motor.

Its easier to hear vtec in a short ram vs a cai because the filter is sitting inside the engine bay, thus being closer to you, where as the cai is sitting outside near the bumper so it wont be as loud as the short ram....and yes..its hard to hear vtec in a sohc..I dont think I can barely hear mine.

You could gear vtec great in my SOHC ZC with a JDM Prelude intake arm and a K&N cone filter....until I blew it the other night

If you really wanna hear vtec good, since SOHC VTEC is only intake lobes, run a small exhaust manifold, quiet exhaust, and a CAI

But in my brothers EX he has the APC Intimatior Intake kit (if spelled correctly) and you can hear VTEC loud as hell inside of the car and out, cause we use to have people looking at us when we could make our way into parking lots by reving up not by speeding.

I can honestly hear vtec pretty good in my y8 with a factory intake minus the bottom resonator... Maybe I just listen for it, but I never heard it in my z6 even if I listened for it... It's nothing like a H22 Prelude or B18 Integra but I can still hear it!

no offense, but considering you are making threads on stuff like "how do I make my vtec louder" i don't think you have the knowledge to do a k swap and turbo it...just my opinion anyways.
