type r cams vs skunk2 cams

Default type r cams vs skunk2 cams

ok i hear from some people that the type r cams are the best cams you can get for a jdm b16a motor. others say skunk2 stage 2 cams are and others say other cams like jun cams, i would like expert advise on this. whats teh advantages and disadvantages of both and over all whats better

i think that for the skunk2 stage 2's it is recommended that you upgrade the valvetrain awell, i think the stage 2's should get you better top end power

Your comparing apples to oranges.

There is no BEST cam. It depends on what you are looking for in the car.

agreed... all depends on your setup and how much power your looking to make...

I had ITR cams in my b16... it was a great upgrade for the money I paid for them... skunk2 stage 2 require some upgrading of the valve-train.

if you arent gonna have dyno tuning go with type R cams.

ok well i plan on getting low compression je forged pistons and egle rods, so basicly i want an every day driver easy to maintain and i wanna turbo the b16 im new to the whoel car thing all i have done is put a b16 in a 1 gen crx but im gunna put the ew4 back in and im gunna get a 2gen crx and i wanna make it liek my summer car well im gunan make it my summer car and maybe a showcar if i get it that nice looking so basicly an every day drive with lots of hp at teh wheels i wanna beat gt's should i just get like type r cams and rockers liek pritty much eveyr thing type r?

Skunk2 stage two cams need a higher compression ration, 11.5-1 to 12.5-1 do a search I know I have seen this discussed before. if you are going all motor fine, but turbo these are not good cams.

so type r is good for turbo skunk2 stage 2 cams no good for turbo

stock is better for turbo than Type R, you want mild so you don't bleed off comression I.E. boost.

type r cams should be good for boost from what i read in force induction forum. But dude i had problem reading your typing. Might want to fix some of that stuff so people understand you better. Most oem cams are going to be good for force induction. Most aftermarket cams wont be as good unless they are made for forced induction.

well i hear type r cams and rockers and valve springs are good, im new to all this and if i new how or where to get my car dyno tuned i would bu ti hvae no clue about all that but i wanna learn and the only way is to do research and have experts give me advise and explain to me how things work and why they do what they do
