Seized bolt! need help QUICK!
Alright doing my rear suspension the bottom bolt head broke off. I cut off the suspension so all that is left is the bushing and the bolt going through it. I have tried vice grips on the end and spinning it. I have tried heating it up and then spinning it. I have tried knocking it out in 2 different directions....and i am running out of ideas. Because i did cut off the suspension the option for taking it to a shop is out of the question. I need some ideas and FAST!!!!!!!! thanx!!!!!!
hmmm...id say ur screwed...hahaha damn im funny! but anyways... have you tried drillin it out? drill it... and stick another longer bolt in it or something and see if you can knock it out that way or even unscrew it out. just a thought.
the problem i have with drilling it out is all the arms and stuff in the way. They force me to drill at an angle which would then drill out the bushing or whatever else is inside that thing
i asked a ? on this awhile ago......
i was told to use a MAPP gas torch, then spray WD40 into it once u let off heat <- MAPP gas burns hotter than normal propaine, so the WD40 will be able to soak its way into the threads.....then use a vice grip.......you could also just try and zip tie everything back together and take it into a shop and have them finish it

I would say grab a bigger hammer, have your friend punch you in the face(for the temper to kick in), then go to town on that ******* bolt!
Cliff notes: Hit it harder with a sledge.

wow, zip tie a suspension together? sounds fun to watch.
You can get a right-angle drill adapter if you can't get to it straight with the drill. What exactly did you CUT off anyway?

<- passenger side splash cover is held one with zip ties

alright guys heres the deal I'm paying $25 to whoevers idea works. I'm gonna try each idea until one works...with the exception to the zip tie... i have it soaking right now in some "liquid wrench" what i cut of was the fork at the bottom of the suspension. so hit me with all your ideas....i have recently tried heat and force. maybe i will try the right angle drill bit and see how that goes!
wait.....so uve cut off the end of the stock shock???......just go to honda and get the new nut and bushing, and use the new ones to install the rear new shocks......and ur set.......
BTW, were ur fronts fine???

If i were to take it off so i could put it in a drill press is it the upper and lower control arm i'm taking off?? or what exactly should i look for inside the haynes manual? beacuse that seems like it would give me more room to work with!
that isnt the right diagram...where can i find pictures like that and then i can point you all in a better direction!
yeah its the bolt number 16 that broke and the piece it is stuck in is the piece that really belongs in between the 2 forks on the strut in that picture.
No, but since the head of the bolt is broken off a dremel I guess won't work. What you may want to do is go into there and drill through the bolt. Its not threaded in there and I think even if you were to "overdrill" you won't damage anything.

thats what i am currently doing....but i was drilling for like 30 mins straight and it only went a few centimeters....so i am guessing it will be a day project.
I would try the mapp gas thing but don't use WD-40 use something a little stronger like pb blaster and let it sit on it for about 3 or so hours that stuff penetrates deep. so did you cut the shock off right above the fork? if so, then just remove your LCA and put it on a drill press and drill it out with a metal bit.
