Default Drag Gen 4 instalation Question for 5th Gen

Alright, Car in question is a 98 Lude SS (GF's car). Looking for a turbo kit, from what I have researched, Drag seams to be the best. Heard good things about Fmax, but I'm not a fan of the additional injectors, or the painted IC piping. This is a show car, so it has to look nice as well.

1-The biggest thing I see is that with some kits, you can't use JDM fogs..is this the case with the Drag kit?

2-If that is the case, can I modify the piping a little in order to use the fogs?

3-Does the battery have to be relocated or a smaller one bought?

4-Does anything else have to be hacked up? Less hacking the better.

I tried searching, there was a lot of talk about this kit, but not really any real life experiences.

If things need to be modified too much we're going to have to go with a JRSC.

Thanks.

i had a drag kit on my 97 ss and dont even bother doing it honestly save your money, the tranny never held any of the power, it sucked i had my tranny rebuilt twice and still no change, you cannot use jdm foglights, i didnt have them i still had to take the little plastic peices out where they go, and the piping in that kit is the dumbest routing ever,if you want turbo, go 5psd first, you have to hack a bunch of the front bumper out for the interecooler, and that "vibration dampner" behind the rear bumper, honestly save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tranny is not the main concern for us. It's her weekend car, and she is already prepared to have it rebuilt...by Level 10, not to factory specs...dunno why one would do that if it fails once, it will fail again. But upgraded Torque converter and clutch materials etc.

So from what you say, I have to not use the JDM fogs, and hack up the bumper...NOT GOOD.

yeah seriously, it's not worth the money to put a turbo on SS. jrsc might be a better choice if you want to boost.

For most turbo kits. you will have to hack something. I used a custom piping that routed through the front core. With this setup i was able to kit the jdm fog lights. I also had to move the battery to route the piping. if you don't want to do some major cutting buy the jrsc.

I see what you guys are saying.

So short of doing custom piping, a kit will not satisfy my needs.

I guess I'll explore doing a custom setup then, that way I can route the piping differently.
