Default Too much play in gears?

whenever i put the car into gear, and just wiggle it back and forth, it all feels like it's in neutral. Even in 5th gear. I tried shifting around in my friend's Hatch with the same tranny as me (Si Tranny) and his feels a lot better than mine. Anyone have an idea what's wrong?

Right on, check http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and look around for shift linkage. I'm pretty sure you cant just buy the end, you have to buy the whole shifter bar, its like $50.

Its #14 (Rod Gearshift) for a 91 crx si, $39.50 part number 86728

It's probably the "bitch pin" that connects the shift linkage to the tranny.

Some times people take it out to work on the tranny or whatnot and replace it with a bolt instead because they don't have another "bitch pin".

I would check that first.

Actually go ahead and replace the bushing at the tranny it wont do much for you, I did with my ES kit and it didnt do **** other then actually firm up shifting itself.

If you want your shifter to be tight and not move, then I would recommend a new shifter (if you go to a import store or even honda(maybe) you can get one) You should get the pilot bearing and mounting bracket, its all one peice becuase on our cars the shifters are pressed into the fitting they sit in, and inside that the bushings go bad.

I noticed an AMAZING improvement with my B@M shifter in my old dx, it came with the whole new shifter and bushing as one peice alls I had to do was put on a few o-rings/bushings and bolt it up, and you COULD NOT MOVE IT MORE THEN 1/4 INCH, it was stiff as hell and it felt really nice like that.
