this is probably a stupid question, so i apologize ahead of time..

anyways, is it legal to park your motorcycle on the sidewalk? is there any law as far as parking your bike on the sidewalk? thanks

also has anybody have gotten a ticket or hassled by a cop/metermaids by parking on the sidewalk. i see people park their bikes on the sidewalk here in los angeles and wondering if anybody gotten in trouble for it..

I almost always park on the sidewalk if it won't obstruct the path of pedestrians, and have never gotten talked to or anything.

 

yeah just make sure that its not in the way of people walking and especially handicapped parking. Cops usually understand the fact that its just better security.

Yes, it's illegal. It'd be like parking your car on the sidewalk.

Generally, it's not a big problem. Sometimes cops will do it because they need the ego-trip, but it's not too common. It's like parking three bikes in one stall - still illegal, but only if the cops a dick.

yeah, It's illegal. I'm in LA also and have been warned by a cop when I came back out to my bike. I parked where there was NO obstruction to pedestrians too.
