I love C/F....

This pic is just too nice not to post. Hope this helps- oh and I have notice a substatial temp reduction ever since I got the hood- and it makes a Huge difference in winter too. Good Luck!

if these are red "X"'s then I'm sorry. I posted just like I was told. oh well...

i prefer photobucket cause its easier. it includes the tags already and resizes for you.

You might want to put this in the appearance section.... I would like to see some pics of the 4th gen with vented hood too though

str8rcn just sold his 4th gen. One of the pics he had was of his hole car with a cf vented hood. PM him and ask if he still has that picture.

Do any of the aftermarket vented hoods even lower temperatures enough to affect performance ?

don't know if this will help or not- it's kinda ghetto but i read it in super street or honda tuning. get longer bolts for your hood hinges and put washers under them. it raises the rear of the hood and is supposed to have the same effect as cowl induction. guess it depends if you're going for looks or just lowering underhood temps.
oh, and here's a hood i think looks cool from tcsportline.comsorry it's not on a car

aftermarket hoods prevent overheating by a lot... i know rx7s use them because they overheat constantly. i'm assuming the concept is the same.

Plus with a Carbon Fiber hood you reduce a large amount of weight from the front of the Prelude.

this is a pic from when the previous owner had the car. it's an aerogear hood and just to let you know...that hood doesn't fit to correctly with h22 engines. the left side doesn't sit completely flush with the fender

I can't get over the way they look. Try pulling the weather stripping on the rain tray and propping the back end of the hoo up an inch or two.

hey boostedh23, wuz up, can't remember your set-up. i was looking for a vented hood too but i just went with the vis racing CF stock hood for $330.

my whole cooling system is upgraded and i use redline water wetter. i haven't had problems yet.

what about the thermo wrap it cover the turbo and piping? or thermal coating?

im stilling deciding which route to go if any

Water runing down on the engine doesn't hurt it?

Had to ask.

Yeah, Image station is a bitch, I'm just glad that it is working at all. It is grey in real life, and when I shot these pictures the sun was setting so that might have made it look a little orange. How do you like my duct tape antenna?
My eshaust is an Ebay special, I think it was like 60 bucks . I used to like it a lot, but it is just too loud now.

And the hood was on for those races too. I never thought of any potential performance benefit though..
