Default CAM GEAR adjustments

I have been trying to find some info on adjusting my cam gears to my build but again I have my reasons for not hitting the dyno. Again, everyone says "the only way is with a dyno" and "every car is different". I do understand the ideas behind this but what if me and another guy have the same build and the only diff. is something like elevation.... wouldn't our setups run about the same?? I have a NA motor for now. Here is the setup:

b18a block bored to 81.5mm and decked
b18b crank and rods
81.5 ITR pistons/rings (made by a company called TopLine that makes exact replica pistons, coated, webbed and marked p73...the whole 9 yards so...shhh)
92 JDM SIR2 head, manifold, and cams
STR adjustable cam gears
stock valves
dual valve springs (SIR intake side, ITR exhaust side)
Ti retainers of some brand
OEM Honda b18b head gasket

To my knowledge the machine of the head was only an advisor/suggested milling to resurface it for a good seal as with the block being decked.

lets say someone has the same setup and he dyno's his, pulls the most power. How would not work for me??? maybe a dumb question but lol

The phrase "every engine is different" is an accurate one. Two bone-stock B18's could potentially prefer different cam or fuel settings. After reading your setup, it appears you have a decent amount of money invested in it, so I assume your reasons for not wanting to properly tune it at this point are not monetary?

I want to get more of the basics now like header, exhaust, test pipe, some fuel management/correction and an high discharge ignition before I am at the dyno for a day. I just want to have some idea that I am making the most for my current setup for the break in...etc... I just want to know I am making the most out of my build for now i guess you could say... thanks for the imput

Dude the reason you see "go to a dyno" posted so many times is because it is 100% true.

There is no magical cam gear setting that you can dial up on any given N/A build to get better numbers.

Side note though:

Where did you get those Top Line pistons, and how much did they cost? They sound awesome.

I'm not a big fan of forged pistons when it comes to N/A street builds...

Another thing to consider is that all cam gears are a little different and off a couple degrees. Brand 1 cam gear set at 0 degrees can be off a couple degrees from brand 2 at the same setting. And I've heard of even cam gears of the same make can sometimes vary a degree or two.

The reason everyone says dyno it is because that is the only way to do it right.

Well I first seen a booth at the NOPI nationals in GA year before last..I got there catalog and kinda tossed it aside. I recently had a machinist suggest them since honda doesn't make an 81.5mm over sized piston/rings. I love em...I should have taken pics because they are perfect...the webbings, the stamping, the coating...is exactly replicated the honda piston. Turns out TOPLINE is some company that started making parts for VW's like cylinder heads, pistons, etc. They seen the import thing start to take momentum and bam.... a full line of honda replica pistons... 81.5, 82mm

I tried something i read on another post and it seems to help. I turned the intake cam back to degrees and advanced the exhaust 1-2 degrees....it almost floods sometimes or runs really rich, but I never lean out... even under harder driving. It kinda bogs in the lower RPM's but i will fix that with the timming light shortly

any suggestions
