Default 2 months to earn $2200, gone in one day!

got another jdm b16 swapped in my car today! just finished up. grocery list so far is:

973 ( 900 plus tax!)= b16 longblock
50 = header and o2 sensor
40 = stock eg airbox
600 = labor to install
220 = exedy organic stage 1 clutch
100 = misc shiznit, oil, tranny fluid, coolant, etc
30 = engine damperner mount?
20 = throttle cable
60 = carsound cat

bought the motor today and had it swapped, everything seems to be cool so far. i stalled like 10 times after they finished, took about 5 mins to get used to the new clutch. the car is loud as a ****, now i KNOW what people mean when they say open header loudness!

monday, the cat and piping should be adjusted to bolt on correctly. then after that, its smog time baby! im looking for a usdm p30 ecu also, let me know guys

nice swap.

But you probably will not find someone willing to part with a USDM P30. (JDM p30's are easy) They were only used in the 94 and 95 Del Sol Vtec. I would say to just use a p28 with a p30 chip in it. P28's are easy to find, and the only thing you give up it the knock sensor. I actualy pulled my P30 from my Vtec Sol because I wanted to play with chipping an ECU. I looked for a spare USDM p30 for a few months and gave up. then I used a P28 and it runs my B16A3 fine.

If you do find some one with a USDM P30 for sale... be ready to pay top dollar for it.

should of bought a helms manual for 50-80 bucks and installed the motor yourself....it would of been a great learning experience

I agree...that 600 could have gone into something more useful. Plus the knowledge you would gain is worth doing it yourself

Thats cool man. You gotta let us know what its like once you get the exhaust put on there.

BTW yea its an expensive hobby...but Id rather build my 93 si To my own specs than make a car payment on some new car and not have any money left over for up-grades. Well then again I guess its still a hobby car...
