hey guys can u help me, my friend is planning to swap h22 odb1 into a honda accord ex 96 obd2. we were hearing different things, is this a possible swap? others say that it fits but the car is obd2 but the engine is a obd1, so please help me out....

it fits you just have to switch everything on the obd1 engine to make it an obd2 engine. thats all you gotta do to make it compatible.

well im not too sure really...but i think you will need to switch out all the obd1 sensors and get an obd1 conversion wiring harness...i could be wrong so dont quote me on this... and wait till someone with hands on experience lets you know, just to be safe.

i pretty sure a 96ex is obd1. i have i 95 which is the same gen and its a obd1. other than that you shouldnt have any problems with the swap.

 

in japan they would have been but ib the us everything 96 and up is obd 2 my bad

 

im pretty much sure my friend said its an obd2 96-97. the 94-95 is obd1, thats what we were told, so thats y were confused?

 

If the engine is OBDI - then why not convert the rest to OBDI?
I don't understand why you would want it to be OBDII? which doesn't take to mods all that well.

If it were me, I would stick with OBDI.

 

we want it to OBD1 but the car is OBD2, so what do i have to do to make it ODB1?

this is a royal pain in the *** in terms of the h22 in an accord...i have the exact setup that you are planning to swap...(96 accord lx with a jdm 95 h22a)...it's a nightmare, and if you have the option, get an obd2 motor...it'll be much easier...
