Default light weight flywheel and underdrive pulley

im looking into buying a light weight flywheel and underdrive pulley for my g2,... i have a act clutch and what to get an act flywheel. The flywheel either comes in 11 lb or 8lb which would be better for street use as well as street racing, and what kind of undrive pulley should i be using becuase ive heard that unorthidox makes the best. some help ,.. not SEARCH, just regular advice from someone who has done it would help. thanks a lot

8lb= drag
11lb street daily driver.

are planning to go turbo later?
if so the pulley wont help you...

You will feel a difference only if you driven your b16 w/out it then placing it on. Acceleration and quicker rpm climb is good. Also, less strain on the motor hence lighter flywheel.

i got tthe UR and LOVE IT. daily driving hasn't changed except that it's more fun..

and for drag racing you usually don't wanna go under 12lbs in integras cuz you sitll need some inertia to pull you off the line and bang you into the enxt year, i am no longer able to chirp my tires unless i powershift.

the smoothness gained is awesome.

anywya what kind of racing? drag, road race/auto-x?? if drag get the 11. if you plan on road racing where you need the revability then get the 8lb.

oh yeha BTW the lighter FW will do a number on the springs on the disc if it's not a beefed up sprung disc.... search there is a HUGE thread on clutches and light FW's.

oh yeah the pulley is nic too. my friend has one in his civic and it helped a lot. almost like a FW.... if your going drag get the pulley and the 11lb FW. if road racing the pulley and the 8lb FW might be overkill... i'm planning on the UR pullies so i dunno yet.

i have the act 6 puck disc, act hd pressure plate and act 8.8lb fw in my 4dr gsr. i LOVE that fw! when i drag first gear is nothing and i spin 2nd hard and get a tiny little chirp in 3rd. but you dont wanna do that when you drag anyways. as for the pulleys...less reciprocating mass = a higher rate of acceleration.

one problem with too much reduced mass to increase acceleration is that if you break loose on the launch rpms will rise very quickly and spin the wheels soooo easily. very hard to compensate and hook back up. maybe it's jjst my tires and the fact that it's still cold here, but thats what i've experianced... i had yoko avs es100 on my stokc steelies and in the winter with temps in the low 30's my first gear was useless. even on a roll i would hammer the gas and spin through first and if i wanted i could spin 2nd. 1st gear was useless. i always shifted at 3k cuz that when the tires would break loose. now i got 17's and dunlop rubber and it's a lot easier to hook up. and the tmeps are warming up

Nothing says "I hate my tranny" more than spinning second gear and chirping third.

im putting it in a b16 , not the stock ls motor. and i dont really get down with all that street racing around corners and ****, i like going to the track and lining up with people in the street from a dead stop. which would be considered drag as well correct? if so then the 8.8lb flywheel and ur pulley wouldnt be doing me any good? i jsut want to make the right decision before i waste my money and put this motor in with the wrong ****

i would buy the streetlite flywheel and the UR Ultra SS set. The crank pulley is the most important pulley, because it is the one that has the most weight taken from. AEM and other companies just offer the PS and ALT pulleys which only gives you about 2-3 hp. if you buy the UR set you will get at least 8hp. http://www.unorthodoxracing.com

yeha and i believe UR keeps the stock balancing. so if your pulley uses like harmonic dampeners they try to keep the acual dampening properties very close to stock.. they also have very high tolerances on their products.
