help i ran a 16.7
I have an '97 stock LS and i ran 16.7. Should i go auto-X or should i go with a drag setup? What will be the funest setup for theleast amount of money?

By the way, what are the shift points and launch point on an LS? I tryed almost everthing and the lowest time was 16.7.

That sounds a rough man. My friend ran a 15.7 with only an AEM cold air intake installed. Was your clutch slipping? Is your motor sound; you should give it a tune-up and check the compression. How about your tires? There are a lot of things that could make up for your slow time. How long have you been driving? I know a few people who are just new to driving a standard mission, and have slower times, but if your car is stock and in good health, it can only be left up to driver skill. I don't wanna say you aren't good at driving, but driver skill is really important. You don't have any giant blinger wheels or monster bodykits do you? Perhaps a really heavy audio install? Reply back with some more info.
I'd say keep it stock for now and don't waste your money.
16.7? iu'm not sure if it was your driving or your car was
running like crap. Was that your first time on the strip?

Do a tune-up and check the compression. How does the clutch feel? If you have been driving standard missions for a while then I will rule out driver not having skill, it might be in the car, it might not be you at all.

Don't give up if you ran a slow first time!!! You just need practice
I have never done auto-cross but I would assume it would be more exciting then drag racing.
Try to shift at red-line or experiment to see which shift point works for you. I launch at around 3.5-4.5k.

I just bought the car from carmax and the clutch feels alright exept the friction point is alittle too small (that would be better for drag racing anyways

Yes, Integra's are wonderful for autocrossing and road racing. A few suspension mods and lots of practise will have you chasing the corvettes in the tight corners.

Finally, the question we've all been waiting for.

I take it you dont have much experiance with other cars...
Honda Clutches engage higher than most other clutches, this is a proven fact.
Mitsubishi catches very low, and when you install an aftermarket piece it engages lower.
I believe by changing the thickness of the Throw-Out bearing you could probably change the engagement point... that is just theory of course...
anyway, honda clutches engage mid way up at the earliest, if your clutch engages lower then you have thrown a spring retainer and it is trapped between your clutch disk and something else... ive also had this happen, its not good for any of the parts in your clutch.
as for the 16.7, dont let them fool you, that is a very respectable time for your first time out.. dont expect to hit much into 15s with an LS, if at all

16.7 isnt that bad dude... id practice alot more if you wanna go drag tho... i had my LS built with crower components and the basic bolt ons. i ran 15.2 on 16in volks with full interior. i started getting into auto X and i used tein re as my suspension with edfc. IMO auto X is way more fun.
thanks for all your suport. One of my friends told me that at the friday night track event that they add you reaction time to your 1/4 mile time. Im like an old person i dont react very quick
