You didn't list the Apex'i filter, or the cheap crap you buy at Autozone.

I was using a K&N, but a friend borrowed it, now I'm using an ebay filter.

I don't know if it's true or not, but a friend of mine recently told me some bad things about K&N filters- mainly, that they sometimes don't filter out everything and can allow bad stuff to get into your engine. Has anyone else heard this? Anyone know anything about this?

I know the older AEM intakes came with a K&N filter that had the K&N logo imprinted on the front of it. The newer one's come with filters that say AEM on the front, I'm not sure if K&N makes them or not.

aem filters are not k&N there just made out of the same material. and amerikanjesus, i havnt heard that k&n doesnt filter out everything but if any filter did, it would be the weapon-r cause i have a aem and weapon-r and if i look through the weapon-r i can see through the foam although i bet its the best one for hp gains because its a very thin filter

Of course if it were me, I'd put on some ITB's and run with no filter.

Why don't you just search? This was covered yesterday, I know because there was a link to a separate page with a whole bunch of filters. Blitz, K&N, A'PEXi, and so on and so forth, but to answer your question, from the dyno they did, the A'PEXi filter won.

I lost the link, but i once saw a test against K&N, Blitz, Apexi, and HKS. Apexi filtered the best and gave most power, K&N came in second, HKS foam didnt do great in3rd, and Blitz made nice power but did a HORRIBLE job in filtration....Id stick with K&N or Apex'i!

Im using the Apex power filter on my turbo setup and I love it.

I had a K&N originally but the flange ripped, then i slapped on ashitty mushroom filter, and then i finally bought the Apex. I noticed a nice gain on the but dyno and have been meaning ot possible do a dyno comparison between a few filters.
