I'm just curious what the injuries were (if any). I've been thinking on and off about a bike and the only thing that keeps holding me back is people running red lights or other idiot drivers.

 

if you have doubts then maybe you shouldn't think about getting a bike...theres risks with everything

 

I was hit (t-bone) going 25mph by a car going 25mph...

Was wearing Joe Rocket Retro 88 Jacket, cargo pants, normal shoes (long story short just was done with a 1200 mile trip that used up all my long socks for my riding boots).

Broke collarbone, two toes, and did a decent number on my shin (have a 5-6" scar now). No head injury though.


About $3500 in medical bills, apparently about $3500 worth of damage to the little SUV and about $3500 worth of damage to my bike + new helmet, etc.
