ok so i just took my car to get the stickers and the guy tells me that the car don't pass the emistion test. i ask why and he tells me that it might be a lot of things.
now a week ago i swaped the engine. there were only 90k on the new engine. when i finished i was geeting three codes. code 6 code 14 and code41. after clearing the ecu i only had the O2 sensor code. so i go under the car and unplug the O2 sensor. clean the plugs and then conect them again. when i start the car i don't get the O2 code anymore. 2-my fuel efiency sucks. with half tank full i get about 100-110 miles. that sucks. so my questions are;
how can check/fix the problem of emision. i don't want a way how to pass it. i just want a way how to fix it. i changed the oil a week ago and the filter. there is no smoke coming out of the car or add. please help. i hate when there is something wrong with my car.
my car is a 90 accord ex automatic trans. just swaped an engine that came out of a 92 accord dx manual trans.

 

What kinda HC/CO/NO readings did you get? Which did you fail? MOST of the time when you have poor gas milage it's your oxygen sensor, if you know someone..they can be as cheap as $20, or get one over the counter for $60. Sometimes a DX doesn't get as good milage as an EX.. Being a Manual if you "dog" your car, of course you'll have worse gas milage.

 

**** man gas millage on my car sucks. with half tank i only go 100 miles and that is it.(time for a trip to the gass station) i was geting a code for the O2 sensor. i just unplagg it and plug it again and the sensor didn't came up again. **** $60 for the sensor. dude that sucks. i am saving money for springs and shocks. my 90 ex sucks big time now man. im starting to hate it.

 

stop whining and sell it then. whining doesnt fix anything...and why ionvest in a POS right?
