clutch pedal and engagement
well for some time my clutch pedal is way too high its like 2-3 inches higher than my brake pedal and it releases the clutch towards the top...i have tighted the bolt all the way down on the clutch pedal, and i think the cable is as far adjusted as it can go...any suggestions? do you think a new clutch cable will help? this was the same thing on my old crx that had a new act clutch in it...and i couldnt figure it out either...
well both really...the pedal is stupid high and the engagement is at the top as well, its rather annoying...when i adjusted it to be tighter, the pedal feels not as hard to push down...
You adjust the pedal height with the bolt (under the dash) you mentioned.
As for the engagement point, to have it grab closer to the floor, you've got to "loosten" the cable. (turn the adjustment nut counter-clockwise, looking down at it)

lol, i thought tightening it would bring the pedal closer to the floor...
i guess ill loosen it and see what happens...

Have you replaced your clutch in the past???
If not it just sounds like your clutch is wearing out, your pedal position will change as wear and tear on the clutch affects its grabbing abilty, Im sure it still grabs fine and doesnt slip, but if the disk is getting thinner or your PP fingers are getting weaker it will take more pressure to apply it, remember that cable goes directly from your foot to the shift fork inside the bell housing, if it has less material there to grap the t/o bearing will move on the input shaft to keep close contact with that pressure plate, hence forth increasing stress/pull on the cable and pulling it higher.....
Now you should have slack in your pedal especially since its adjustable, but since you've already adjusted it so much it has prob. lost all that and your calbe is prob. about to snap.

my old crx had the same problem and it had an ACT clutch in it...yeah i need to replace this soon, it doesnt slip at all though...but having 128k miles on it, doesnt help either...it still grabs pretty good...

ok i figured it out today...i loosened the clutch cable...that lowered the engaging point...
and for some reason the bolt that ajdusts the clutch pedal also has a nut on it, so i took out the bolt and took off the nut and then put it to where i liked it...and now the clutch pedal is even with the brake pedal...
im happy right now for the little test drive...i just hope that the clutch doesnt slip because of where it engages...
