Default Car cover says not to use it on any newly repainted surfaces for 6 mos????

I recently bought a car cover to use on my car overnight every night because I don't have access to a garage or carport. Well when I took it out of the box I read the little instructions/warnings card and the warning said not to put the car cover on any newly repainted surfaces or liqour (sp?) painted surfaces for at least six months. I've never heard of this before. The reason I'm concerned is because i put a new hood on my Accord about a month ago and the hood had to be newly painted. Is this a warning I should heed or what?

Thanks

Yeah, you're not susposed to wax or put a cover over a freshly painted surface, because the paint has to cure. The paint may be dry, but it still has chemicals that needs to evaporate off the paint so that it doesn't rott or peel off. IMO 4 months is good enough.
