I RECENTLY INSTALLED 17 ON MY 98 CIVIC, BEFORE INSTALLING THEM THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE MY INNER TIE ROD. AFTER I INSTALLED MY WHEELS AND WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY I HEARD A NOISE (METAL NOISE). MY FRIEND TOLD ME THAT IT MY BE THE KNUCKLE BEARING THAT I NEED TO CHANGE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING! HOW SAFE IS TO DRIVE LIKE THIS? WHAT DO YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE WRONG WITH MY CAR? AND IF I HAVE TO CHANGE THESE PARTS HOW MUCH APPROX, DO YOU THINK IT WILL COST ME?

what kind of metal noise?...and stop yelling

 

what knuckle bearing.. do you mean the wheel bearing in between the knuckle and the hub?

 

oh ya, was the noise always there or just sometimes

 

is it a vibration?

 

the noise stops every time i stop the car, it continues when i am crusing in high speed, although the noise wasn't there when i was passing through a flat new highway. The noise only appears in the highway. There is no vibration!, I am not sure my self what is a knuckle bearing, my friend just told me that might be the problem.
