went to track yesterday...STOCK crx hf w\D16A6
hmm so i took my car to the track to see what i could pull off after finishing my D16A6 swap in my 89 hf 2 weeks ago. i knew i would run pretty crappy 60 ft. times because i have badddd wheel hop but i didn't expect to run these crappy 1\4 mile times. best i got was 15.706@86mph my 60 ft time was 2.3. this is all stock with stock D16A6 header bolted to the stock hf piping, stock height, and stock intake. lol. i thought i would AT LEAST hit a 15.5 but noooo...15.7's consistenly...almost a 15.6 but not quite. i did have a .504 reaction time...not that it has anything to do with your 1\4 miles time but yeah
anyways...i was a lil disappointed cause when i had my old 88 crx hf w\ D16A6 and i\h\e and a lil alternator pulley i ran a 14.9! so i don't know...we'll see when i add some bolts ons and get some motor mount inserts and lower the car, etc etc etc. i will not be discouraged with my d-series motor! regardless of what you b-series people say!!!

But hey if u did run those times thats aswome
welcome to reality.what you just witnessed is a time that an actual d16a6 stock will run.
if you listen to too many other dumbasses, they will say "IM A GOOD DRIVER Y0 I RAN A 14.9 WITH MY STOCK D16A6 y0!!"

LOL..i didn't expect it to run 14.9 stock...just a little better than 15.7 considering i do have an HF and its weighs in at 1860 lbs...200-300 lbs lighter than a si crx\hatch. just need to get rid of this wheel hop and improve my 60ft.
The d16a6 is a slow motor there is nothing special about it........in stock form....It just like all honda motors can put up with lots of stress and the potential for those motors to do well is def. there.
If you want to go fast, just swap a different engine in, its that simple.
Atleast it looks like you unlike most stunna's on this site can actually drive there car.

nice!
. better then my 16.4 with 2.3 60 foot in my 88 crx with sohc ZC with i/h/e and jet programmed zc ecu. but it was throwin a code 1 and i fixed the problem (fuel issues). feels a lot stronger now. what do all of you think i should be hitting now? dont mean to jack the thread just thought i'd ask sicne we're on the subject

like i said earlier AND no i wasn't lying...i ran a 14.9 w\ a D16A6 and i\h\e and alternator pulley...reason being is because my old 88 hf is so damn LIGHT...so with your 88 hf and a SOHC ZC...and your bolt ons...you should hit high high 14's to low low 15's...IMO.
EDIT: of course also depending on driver

hmmm true but i've always loved being the under dog...especially with a d-series motor. hopefully this hf will do as good as my old one with the same D16A6 motor

oh didn't see your from nor cal! haha. i went to infineon(sears point) raceway just yesterday...and just a little advice don't ever go to that track! man...they had about 4 little incidents concerning spillage on the track and even tho its not their fault...hell i blame them anyways! also the head wind is crazy! i remember back last season they told me to hold my brakes while staging so i wouldn't roll backwards =x sac raceway forever!!!!
lol oh yea? sweet what color is your hf? yea the crx i have right now(i've gone thru about 4 in the past 2 months
) is very very very stock looking...even has only 1 driver side mirror and the stock 4 finger wheel gap haha. the damn pick and pull near travis AFB doesn't have any crx's or hatch's with an extra passenger mirror.

Sacramento Raceway is not exactly paradise, either. Although headwinds are non-existant (when was the last time Sacramento ever had a strong, easterly wind!), heat is the REAL problem at Sacramento Raceway. And I am talking about brutal, no shade, sun-on-the-blacktop, melt-your-brain kind of heat EVERY DAY from mid May to early October. I would rather deal with a nice, cooling headwind than brutal heat any day.
As fro mid to high 15's, I would certainly not complain about running those kinds of times with a D16A6.

yea i used to be in a crew called "Suicidal" (dunno wut i was thinkin.... i was in it at first for the free parts
) so i used to have a big blue Team Suicidal sticker on the back. and yes sacramento is pretty damned hot. consistent times are always good. i went twice with the zc throwin the codes and ran 16.4 evey run ( 6 total). show em what the stockie motor can do!

wow, your old crx was pretty fast. the fastest i could get was 15.6. i had an 88 crx si with ebay intake, hp racing headers, 89 integ ecu, and a AC revolutions muffler (i dont know if you would call this an exhaust, just had it welded on to stock piping), with 160k and a leaking head gasket. too bad i sold it. damn i miss that car. picked it up for only $800 and it had speed holes too (usual honda rust AKA the honda cancer).
I cant wait for the new exospeed car....Im into d series myself. 1990 CRX DX with d15b2 block, d16 head and internals, JG Cam(dont even have an aftermarket cam gear yet
), bored out throttle body, intake, header, exhuast. it pulls all the way to 8,000rpm
. soon to have a built supercharged SOHC Vtec
Kudos to d series lovers
P.S- Is Bisi going to be driving that one also?
