I thought it came with regular GSR brakes. I could be wrong, and probably am.

96 ITR rotors are 4 x 114.3 and GSR rotors are 4 x 100. I believe the discs are the same size so GSR pads would probably work.

the ones you need are the JDM 2.2 VTEC lude calipers

You will need to grind a small amount off the caliper mounting bracket so that it doesn't foul the alloys.

Also you will need to remove the heat sheild too (no that that did anything!!!)

You are right the '96 spec has 4 x 114.3 pcd.

I have done this conversion myself and it has worked very well.

although i believe there is a direct bolt-on application.

thanx again.

ZRD#1,

I am currently performing this brake swap myself. For my rear setup. I just resurfaced the rotors and changed the brake pads. 94-01 GSR pads will work in the rear. For the front, you have two choices. 1. you can use the 92-96 Prelude Non-VTEC rotor which will bolt on, however, you will have to use longer caliper bolts and washers to correctly space it. The GSR pad will work with this front setup. 2. You can use the 94-96 Prelude VTEC rotor along with the caliper and pads associated with that application. This will provide you with an 11in rotor and larger caliper for greater stopping power. This setup however, necessitates a bit of shaving either on the caliper mounting bracket or the outside of the caliper (about 4mm) to prevent contact with the wheels. My guess is you can also use a 5mm wheel spacer if you already have extended wheel studs.

Im going with option 2, which I should have completed sometime next week.

Check the F.A.Q. under the brake section as there are many useful topics regarding the 96 JDM ITR 4x114.3 brake setup.
