not too bad, looks like average for a GS-R w/ I/H/E untuned. Advancing timing and taking the PS belt off should put you up at ~160 whp. Good luck.

nice results, i wonder what your engine was running stock to see how much power those mods added. What are stock type Rs usually running? 165? 160?

I can't scan it until monday. But 136.8/103.6. Stock except for AEM CAI. Isn't this a little low. A stock SI with exhaust put down 137.

Turboholic won. He did 270 on stock injectors. He did 293 last time. Get some new mods, guys, we are doing it again in a month!

Thanks for attending!

Also remember that Jeff's dyno seems to produce low numbers. Around 5-10hp seems to be the average. If you went to another dynojet, you would probably make 5-10 more horsepower. This does not mean his dyno jet is wrong. They are all consistent. Keep going to the same place to dyno after each mod, and you will know how much power you made with it.

Well, I dont have a scanner, but here are the results. Most people were saying that this was decent for a basically stock GSR. All I am running is an AEM CAI.

HP= 148
TQ= 111.6

Now that I see your chart Minh, it looks as if Jeff took yours up to 8100, but my chart doesnt even expand beyond 8k, I think it looks as though he stopped at 7900 or 7800 on mine. Will this effect hp reading say like in the amount of 2hp or will the extra 200rpm not really effect?

Are my figures any good?

After comparing my chart to others that are close to stock. All I have to say is where is my torque. My curve is like everyone else's, if you drop 10 pounds of torque. My torque curves breaks 100 between 5.7k and 7k only.

Hmm. I adjusted my valves yesterday before the dyno, and change the spark plugs. The stock header is a bit mangled from hitting something at some point. I think next time I will purchase a new k&n, since it is in pretty bad shape. There is dirt/sand in places that 2 cleanings have not gotten out. I will try running filter on a stick next time. This will prove or disprove my theory about my bypass valve being evil. And a dc ceramic 4-2-1.
Eventually I will end up FI, but I just want to be normal right now

vteg: There were two cars that did not do so well. One of them was the JR Si. During the first run when put under full throttle it began to detonate badly. So Jeff retarded timing and the second run the detonation was gone but the owner said that he pulled those same numbers before he got his Hondata, so there is clearly some tuning needed for his car. The owner is going to take the car back to Jeff and after some tuning i'm sure some higher numbers will be realized.

The second car that did not fair so well was one of the yellow R's. Apparently there was a problem with the cat and the car put down a depressing 130whp.

Not that this has any cosolation to what is going on here but my friend brought his gutted Nissan NX2000 into my work the other day and we put it on the dyno and other then the engine management system the entire motor is stock no air intake etc.. he is running a SR20DET and is the current world record holder for stock internals Nissan running mid 11's and when we put it on the dyno it produced 240hp to the groud. not bad I can post pic's of that and got a few shots of my gm's 600HP Viper ACR both very cool cars.. anyone else ever seen someone with 335/30's on a car for tread?

Ryan: hmm I guess my motor should make even more power then.. no valve adjustments (36,000 miles on it) ever, 4000-5000 mile old oil (castrol gt-x non-synth), timing was set though.. 163 at the wheels aem, jdm itr 4-1, cat, no ps belt 18 degrees timing.. maybe with valve adj (doing it this weekend anyways) i'll be up to a 164! hehehe
