itr or s2000 muffler?
ok well i got custom 2.25 piping done last year and i got a cheap muffler from ebay and guess what it now sucks, its just a stright-through one. My question is that if i replaces if with an s2000 muffler which to my knowledge is a twin-pass or a itr muffler which one would be better out of the two? and also would this be a downgrade to my current setup? or it wouldn't matter AT all?

I know a couple people that were rocking welded S2K muffler's on their EK's. They look and sound pretty nice, and if the piping is consistent and the muffler is straight-through, sounds like a worthy investment.
Get a proper cat back, and do not buy anything from ebay, toucan, ractive or anything "custom" made. Just get a proper exhaust and be done with it.

yeah eBay is garbage; but If you dont find an ITR or s2k like you wanted; check out tkeller.com he makes some damn good pipes and you can make your OWN custom bolt on exhaust system that will FLOW really good.

The one in that auction is an OBX universal twin loop muffler. You have to weld hangers and a flange to it. I might actually buy one and see how it is.

I used to have a GS-R, and I had in my posession a Type-R muffler, but (after the GS-R was stolen) now I have an S2000 ('04). SO, I feel kind of qualified to speak on this issue.
1) When I take of the rear wheels and look at the muffler from the front, it has a U-turn in it that looks exactly like the Mugen twin-loop. I can't imagine what that U is there for if it isn't an actual twin-loop muffler.
2) I actually never did install the Type-R muffler on the GS-R. After my 'teg was stolen, I wound up giving the muffler away. BUT, I can say that it was a little more aggressive-looking than the S2000, and I felt in general that Type-R's that I've driven sounded at least as throaty (if not a bit more) than the S2000 does.
3) Here's a simple solution: go with whichever you can find for less money. My feeling personally is that the ITR muffler is the better choice (after all, it was engineered for the car).
