Default Newbie Accord Owner

Ive had my 96 Honda Accord for 2 years and am now interested in modifying it. Im very new to this and need to learn a lot. I want to keep it simple and sleek but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations on web sites, magazines, or books to learn more. This forum is great but beyond my scope and I want to get in on the action. Im willing to learn to do some things myself. Thanks.

A couple websites....

http://www.modacar.com
http://www.nopionline.com
http://www.hmotorsonline.com
http://www.importtuner.com
http://www.importfan.com
http://www.superstreetonline.com
http://www.konigwheels.com
http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com
http://www.turbomagazine.com
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com

Most of these are magazine sites, but they usually have articles on mods and things.

Also, http://www.howstuffworks.com, if you want to know how car and car engines and everything related to cars works and how they functions.

excellent mang, i would recommend reading and researching...it will help you with your decisions. a few of us here are starting a basic guide to accords at the top of this forum, which could help with some of your questions--welcome home

may even want to pick up a chiltons or hekms automotive manual for your make/model--will come in handy for diy repairs

Thanks for the links and info. I was planning to get a turbo kit but from what Ive heard it'll blow an automatic transmission. Is this true? The car will be for everyday driving but I just want it to be a little faster. Is there another alternative?

You can turbo an auto, but I wouldn't. Just throw a small shot of nitrous or even try a supercharger.

Um..supercharger, who makes one for 5th gen?

work on the suspension first, shock, springs and anti-roll bar would be a good start
