shocks/struts for 1988 HF
does is make a difference which ones i get for the front? i know it's specific that i can only use 88s for the rear. (or is it also different if it's si/dx/hf?) it's been pretty confusing since 88 hfs are always a diff. selection from 88-91s in stores. anyways, sometimes there's good deals comin around for used ones but i want to see if i can get any 88-91 shocks/struts(which is it?) for the front. thanks. by the way i already searched but i answer i need is specifically for my hf with front 90 axles/knuckles/hubs if that matters. thanks.
ALL 88 Civics / CRX's have the same type of rear LCA, which is different from 89-91.
You can only use 88 rear struts, correct.
You can use any 88-91 front struts, as the front suspension is identical thru' the years. Where have you found good deals for the rear? I've been needing some, pretty badly.

thanks for clearing that up. about the deals i get them in craigslist.com it's some sort of online flea market here in the bayarea, ca. sometimes they show up here in there from lots of people selling off used/new parts. there was a time someone was selling some tokico blues/$80/set used for a few months. anyway thanks.
I just got a set of konis for $75 shipped from ebay. Brand new too. Heres the seller list of items for sale. If he doesnt have anything right now give him a couple of days he will post some. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotor...ws=50
Get 89-91 civic/crx lower arms. 90-93 integra lower arms work too. Do this and you'll be able to use all the 89-91 rear ****. 3 bolts and the lower arm is out. Did this last week. Got rid of my GR-2's in the back. Now i'm rockin Agx's all the way around in my 88 dx hatch.

I did this so i could have kyb agx in the rear. It's easy.
Find lower arms from the 89-91 civic or 90-93 integra.
They look different but they will fit.
You will have to remove 3 bolts and then the lower arm drops.
Just make sure to use the longest bolt to secure the strut to the lca.
I didn't consider it downgrading, since it gave me more suspension options for the rear.
Email if you got ?'s.
