Default Got a lude' but stock stereo=sound of dying animal

I just got my 1994 prelude Si yesterday and when I put some CD's in the 6 disc changer it sounds like crap. There is hardly any bass, even when I adjust it. The radio, though sounds ok and pumps out pretty good. My old car(an 88' toyota camry) sound awsome with the stock speakers and a pioneer head unit. I was wondering what is at fault here for the bad sound, is it the stock honda head unit, or is it the 6 disc CD changer? I know all the speakers are ok, too. Will an aftermarket head unit make my CD's sound better? If so are there any that will work with a 6 dics changer and have an MP3 player as well? I don't want to pay over $200 since I have to pay for the car

my opinion, if your head unit sounds good while listening to the radio but sounds like crap with the changer, it might be your changer. also you can get a decent head unit that plays mp3's and controls a cd changer for under 200 bucks.
