Default Need HELP with Ricer to OEM conversion-- Please!

Ok....check it out. For a year now i've been caught up in the whole 'LOOK' over 'PERFORMANCE' thing. But recently, after some serious work on my 98 EX, i wanna go to the whole OEM look. BUT, need a little help, and maybe some SUGGESTIONS from a someone that has the needed experience.

Just did the h22 swap in the ol civic:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=801430

Here's the latest pic of my car, but it's not really like it anymore. Now,,,I WANNA loose the whole bodykit, wheels, and so forth.

Now,,,HERE'S where i need the help and opinions. Now,,, i wanted to go black gun metal wheels. ANY thoughts? Now, what are the optimal sizes as far as look and performance? These RacingHart 18's are of course big, but i'm lookin for something that looks good, but will have pretty good performance as far as HOOKING up when i lay down the hammer on the ol H. What about stock Si wheels?

And then, i also have the STOCK EX front, back, and side skirts. ANY of this probably worth repainting and using? I'm unknown to any other options...

And thirdly, the hood. I wanna go carbon fiber, so does anyone know a site or brand with good prices, look, AND fitment?

Anyhoot, please help a fellow honda owner out. I'm sure EVERYONE here can appreciate the whole conversion from the "ricer". THANKS!!!

trade the body kit for stock bumpers/sides + cash

and your rims, get some Volks 15'' or 16'' bronze (so it wont show much brake dust)

remove decals

as far as rims, depending which ones I go with ... either 15" or 16". Obviously SI rims only come in one size, but I think they look hella nice. Personally I wanna rock some 16" bronze Volk TE37s

As far as CF hoods ... I'm wondering the same thing. I was going to go with VIS, but if you do a search there's a topic regarding their products not fitting (topic is about 9 days old).

Nice engine swap though!! Hope I helped somewhat.

naaaaaaaa you dont wanna go back to stock jp...

-get your stock sides back on and color match them (paint them)
-put your stock rear bumper and maybe a lip if want
-consider a 99-00 front end conversion (your prefrence)
-stock bumper
- maybe trade those wheels for something ummm less white.

anyway this is your car, its up to you how you want your car to look. if your first impression is you like it then get it dont wait to see what everyone else thinks. again this is my opinion. btw nice swap

yeh bro id change the whole exterior, that body kit must be wieghing you down big time. just go with oem parts such as the rear bumper, side skirts, and front bumper. get a Si lip or CTR lip (same thing) id got with rotas for cheap perfomance. they are light wieght and look good too. unless you want really good rims go with volk te37s 16x7. they are very light wheels. i can get you cf hoods for 280 grade A from the same makers of VIS just with out the VIS badge. lose the altezza tail lights too. convert your car into the 99-01 front looks better.

If you're going with OEM wheels I'd go with either LS or GSR blades for your coupe. If you're going to go with after market go with 15" something. I think its wheelspecs.com that has wheel weights if you're looking to decrease mass in that department, not sure how much the OEM wheels weigh.

Check out BodykitsNW for a C/F hood. Re-painting your stock skirts is definitely worth the time and money.

As stated above a 99-00 front end conversion is an option but I'm not sure on the cost of that. I'd recommend just using what you have. Good luck.

I think you should get a set of buddy club wheels in gun metal, I just got a set in 15s for my MR 96 Coupe and they look sick, I think they would look great on your car, if you want some pics check my site in my profile.

Rice is a grain. If you want aftermarket tail and make you car look fast and go fast or slow, its your choice. The name calling is really getting old as hell.

You should get rid of the tail lights and get '99-'00 tail lights, they are the red and white ones incase you didn't know. Also, I wouldn't try to do a '99-'00 conversion b/c it's a waste of money. I would keep the black housing headlights, get an OEM style CF hood, OEM sides, CTR front and rear lip, but if you had the money CF Lips are not a bad choice either. There's a guy on here with 'em and they were pretty pricey. Get the Rota Grids. They look like the Volk LE37Ts and Rota only makes them in 16s, gunmetal with a polished lip. That's what I would do. Other than that the car looks aight.

P.S. I have a '99 VSM Civic Coupe with a Carisma Grade A OEM CF Hood. Very nice, great fitment, rolled edges and everything pre-drilled. Nice choice
