This morning on my way to work i was dropping my bf off at his house when all of a sudden he says "why is your brake light on?" and i noticed that the BRAKE light on my instrument panel was on.i pushed down on my ebrake and it went off...well after dropping him off it came back on as i was driving,and so when i went to brake it went off...and then after that it never came back on.It was foggy outside and cold so i didnt wanna pull over and check anything,since the light went away,should i worry about it,or call acura and see what is up with that light coming on this morning.??thanks.

 

The brake warning light comes on in 3 possible conditions, parking brake engaged, low master cylinder fluid level, or one of the brake light is burnt out.

Since you "may" have an intermittent condition as the light went out the first time when you lowered the parking brake, it may be a misadjusted switch at the bottom of the hand brake lever.

 

It was on because your parking brake handle was slightly up and not pushed down all the way. Don't worry about it.

 

nah now that i remember the ebrake handle was down i always put it down,im pretty sure now that its my fluid being low,i am passed due on an oil change and service,ive been meaning to get it done,guess my car was tryin to tell me something... thanks u all

 

My brake light has been coming on under acceleration, it turns of when I tap on the e-brake hadle. Any ideas???

 

If you pull out your center console, you can adjust the ebrake handle sensor...might want to try that.
