Default 100K miles in 3 years Vs 100K miles in 8 years.

I am just looking for some opinion on a car with which has 100K miles in 3 years (its not an integra though...its an Acura MDX). If its a well maintained car ( regular oil changes, 30,60 major services etc), in my opinion the overall condition of the car should be much better than of a car with 100k miles in 8 years and this 100K miles should not be an issue....Atleast 75K miles should be from pure high way miles where the wear and tear is very very less.

My thought is that, it may be a good idea to go for high mileage cars that has put in the miles in a relatively shorter time frame. Of course there are certain components which are directly proportional to the miles you have like tires, brake pads etc...But the overall condition should be OK if the miles are accrued in a shorter time period. Not many cold engine starts (for a car with 100k in 3 years, averaging 4 starts a day you end up with around 4,500 cold starts in a 3 year period where as for a car which has put in these many miles in a 8 year period, its going to be 12,000 starts).

Comments /thoughts??? thanks

As long as you have the maintenance and service records, the newer car will be better. Items like rubber boots and bushings as well as interiors, tend to wear out due to exposure to the elements and heat cycling, so they will be in better shape than another vehicle with similar mileage, but is 5 years older.
